About the Event

Jack Kaulfus will lead us in a two day creative writing workshop (6/17 & 6/19). We will read & discuss a variety of texts emphasizing marginalized and previously non-represented voices & stories, and will discuss how stories help to shape & change history. Participants will work on several generative writing exercises incorporating image, story and memory. Writing from personal experiences, participants can choose to write creative nonfiction or fictionalized versions of memories. We will share our work with each other, get feedback and discuss revision techniques. No experience necessary!

Jack Kaulfus is the author of the short story collection Tomorrow or Forever (Transgress Press, 2018). Their work has been published in A Cappella Zoo, Heavy Feather Review, Barrelhouse, and Off the Rocks, among other journals. In addition to teaching high school English, Jack is the fiction editor at Gertrude Press, and one-fifth of the queer Americana band Brand New Key.
